Hrimthurs–“War of the ages” (2 CD-R with pro-printed 12-page booklet - 111:41m)
Black Metal one man band hailing from Australia, inspired by Norse mythology and nature.
Double CD-r very professional and well produced cover layout and artwork.
First Chapter (The Immortal vehement Winter) is a pure masterpiece of old school Black Metal, fast and very well produced riffs with such technique of all instruments…
Second chapter (War of the Ages) is entirely instrumental and is characterised by an enormous amount of tempo and mood changes, ranging from enchanting keyboards that cause you to visualise little mountain streams and forests, to very raw and fast raging black metal eruptions, transitions from keyboard to guitar are rather abrupt and it sounds more like some kind of soundtrack for Viking movie. It´s something between melodic and atmospheric parts and aggressive raw black metal riffs. With ambiental parts fixes that from a moment to another transport you to other dimensions and it is also a little more experimental.
Some early comments:
“Thank you! I like it! It’s cool, rough BM with those intermezzos! It was cool to listen, good luck! Bests.”
Attila Csihar (Mayhem, Aborym, Tormentor, Keep of Kalessin, Plasma Pool, Korog…)
“I find some interesting elements in your music, there are good elements in both CDs. I like this atmosphere whichemerges from your music, good riffs for head banging! The vocals are very good and hateful. I like much themedieval/atmospheric passages… I think in fact that one mix of these atmospheric/medieval elements with yourBlack Metal music could give something of strongly interesting who makes me think of old Satyricon perhaps. For the moment I thus think that you have a true potential for really doing something of very good for your 1st album, for a first work that’s fucking good…”
Wolfnacht (Ewiger Hass Productions, Ravensblood, Ornaments of Sin of Total Holocaust Records)
“The stuff is amazing. Amazing. So diverse, the two records and so interesting. Atmospheric to say the least. What a genuinetalent and sense of the dark arts”
Linus Raudsepp (Raudsepp Records, Empire Magazine, Sweden)
“The artwork is very nice, atmospheric, and dark. The music is true old-school that you wrote!I like that sound!... a very dark journey… congratulations.”
Peter Sallai of Bornholm (Melancholia Records, France)
“First thoughts… fucken cool riffs and IDEAS!! It sure has a Darkthrone feeling to it!…you have some really cool ideas! I like the tempo! By the way – I was really surprised to see how prof. the CD looks…you should be able to get signed… you have really cool ideas and riffs.”
