This is a bummer.
Ex-Vocalist of Devourment passed away today at 3:30.
His contributions to the underground Deathmetal scene were unsurpassable....
R.I.P.
..In 1995, upon the demise of local Dallas based death metal band Necrocide, drummer Brad Fincher and guitarist Braxton Henry (Both of Necrocide) along with former me-at-us vocalist Wayne Knupp set out to push the boundaries of what brutal death Metal was all about.
Wayne decided to move back to his hometown of Chicago, Brad moved to San Antonio, TX to get his education. Months later both Wayne and Brad moved back to the Dallas area and decided it was time to form what would become the most abhorrent form of musical abomination to ever exist in the history of underground death metal. However, Braxton Henry had in the meantime already formed a band known as Dead Industry. Luckily Wayne knew a guy named Brain who he used to actually play with a few years before. What Brain was playing was a style that was uncompromising compared to a lot of other guitarists in the genre. His intensity was unmatched so after finally contacting him, Brain was introduced to the band whom musically, he clicked with instantaneously.
Soon the trio put out a 2-song promo, which featured "Shroud Of Encryption" and "Festering Vomitous Mass". Several months later with the additions of then guitarist of Sintury Kevin Clark, and underground artist Mike Majewski, Devourment on bass, the band recorded one more song, Choking On Bile, which would be added to the 2-song promo resulting in the 1997 demo released by Corpsegristle Records that gained such a tremendous fan base. The demo would be entitled Impaled. With this line-up Devourment were a complete outfit. Or so they thought.
Wayne Knupp decided to leave the band due to some internal problems leading up to and during the trip to New York. The band would have a hard time finding a new vocalist, somebody who could most importantly, compare with Wayne's brutal vocal assault.

News
After Mastodon's performance at the 2007 MTV Video Music Award, vocalist/guitarist Brent Hind was in a fight and hospitalized in a Las Vegas hospital where he remains.
The latest reports coming from local police say that Hinds was inebriated at the time of the assault. Security camera footage captured of the incident point to Hinds as the instigator; police said he'd removed his shirt and began hitting his assailant with it before he was knocked to the ground. Hinds' nose was also broken, and he sustained two black eyes.
According to the band's manager,Nick John:
Thankfully, it seems he's going to [make a full recovery], All I know is he had a bad head injury, broken nose and blacked-out eyes. He doesn't recall much.

CODE
Witness Nouveau Gloaming Live!!!!
A deal has been struck...for those wanting to witness Nouveau Gloaming live for the first time, now is your chance. We will be playing a one-off gig at the London Underworld in Camden on the 13th December. We are supporting lords of negativity, namely Shining from Sweden. Also playing are Skitliv and Hellsaw.
So what can you expect? This is not a representation of the future, this is to set the record straight and accomplish what we never mangaged before....this is unfinished business. We will only be playing songs off the Nouveau Gloaming album and the line-up will reflect that. Kvohst will be on sacrificing his vocal chords for us again, Viper (Victonik) will be playing bass, and I will be joined by Heimoth on guitar who previously was the man behind French black metal legends Seth. Drums will be performed by Adrian Erlandsson, schedule permitting.
Do not turn up expecting to see ICS Vortex and a host of new songs, this will be an evening of regressive blackened grimness. Whether this is a will be the one and only live appearance by Code remains to be seen....what is certain is that shows of this nature will be hugely limited.
Opportunities are fleeting....make the most of them

Former CARCASS guitarist Mike Amott (currently in ARCH ENEMY) has revealed that the legendary U.K. death metal band might reunite for a tour.
In an exclusive interview with Sweden's Close-Up magazine (web site), Amott said that he and guitarist/vocalist Bill Steer secretly met in Halmstad, Sweden last year to rehearse old CARCASS material. A couple of months later, they were joined by vocalist/bassist Jeff Walker for another practice session. ARCH ENEMY's Daniel Erlandsson was handling the drum duties at these rehearsals.
"It sounded really good and it was a lot of fun," said Amott. "We rehearsed pretty much the entire 'Heartwork' album [1993]."
The original plan was for CARCASS to play several festival shows during this summer, but that fell through.
"I hope we can do some reunion shows at a later date," explained Amott. "It would be a lot of fun and I'd love to play the songs live again. Unfortunately, it can't happen until 18 months from now, at the earliest, because ARCH ENEMY has a totally full schedule. It's different for the other guys who don't work as actively on their music careers."
Have you discussed writing new songs?
"To write something new seems unnecessary. People still only want to hear the old stuff," said Amott.
After the "Heartwork" tour, Mike Amott left CARCASS. The band then released the appropriately titled album "Swansong" (1996).
What did you think of "Swansong" when it came out?
"I wasn't a fan of it," Mike replied. "But we actually rehearsed a couple of songs from it last year and they sounded pretty good. I think the production partly ruined it. It sounded sparse and basically all the extreme stuff that characterized CARCASS was gone. It felt boring."
Have the other members of CARCASS heard ARCH ENEMY?
"Jeff has flat-out said that he thinks we suck," Amott stated. "Bill is not into that kind of music. I think the guys left the metal world as it was in the middle of the '90s and haven't thought about it since. It seems they think it's a little bizarre that I'm still doing the metal thing full-on."
Original CARCASS drummer Ken Owen suffered a brain haemorrhage in 1999 and was hospitalized for ten months, slowly emerging from a coma.
"Ken is doing fine today, but he's not a metal drummer," Amott explained. "He's not capable of playing entire concerts with an extreme band like CARCASS. I still hope that he, if we do a tour, will travel with us and play a couple of songs each night."
Earache Records will re-release the CARCASS back catalogue with bonus material, including DVDs with brand new interviews and other footage.
"Jeff has negotiated with Earache and been able to make the label pay us a lot of old royalties," Amott revealed. "Of course money means something, but it would be great fun to go around and play songs that truly are classics in a genre. I've never played stuff like that to people before. I mean, songs that somehow have been soundtracks to people's lives. It would be fun to dig up the old corpse again."
