Swedish experimental extreme metallers MESHUGGAH have issued the following update on their current activities:
"Hi, all, and sorry for this extremely long time of no updates about [teh new album] 'Catch 33'!
"Nah.. we're not sorry actually, you should know us by now... and we got more important things to do than write useless information on the news.. hehe, we've been doing the same fucking thing all this time — workingwithcatchthirtythree — so we don't wanna repeat ourselves, right?!
"Anyway, we just wanna tell you guys that we are on the l.a.s.t. couple of weeks work, 'just' some pieces in the puzzle that needs to be forced to fit with some help from the crowbar of love... some mixing and then we should be done. We said 'should', didn't we..??
"The song is, of course, a smashing radio hit and should be in the Top 3 most aired songs ever within two weeks time."
As previously reported, MESHUGGAH are tentatively scheduled to release "Catch 33" on April 11 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Nuclear Blast Records has pushed back the projected release date of the new MESHUGGAH album, "Catch 33", to May 16 in Europe and May 31 in the U.S. As previously reported ,the follow-up to 2002's "Nothing" is being described as one continuous 47-minute song divided into 13 parts and is said to be "musically the opposite" of the group's 2004 EP, "I".
The artwork, which was designed by MESHUGGAH drummer Tomas Haake, is "a visual compliment of sorts to the album title, i.e the paradoxes/negations/contradictions of life and death (as we see it in our finest moments of unrestrained metaphoric interpretation) that the lyrics [on the new album] deal with!" according to Haake.
