VENIAL SIN - SPHERE OF MORALITY REVIEW, HIGH VOLTAGE
http://www.highvoltage666.co.cc/2012/02 ... ality.html

Review - Venial Sin - "Sphere Of Morality"

Nota - 7,6/10

VENIAL SIN "Sphere of Morality" review, SOM ETERNO
Fevereiro 24, 2012 in Críticas por Paulo Trindade
http://someterno.net/blog/2012/02/24/ve ... -morality/

2012 / Infekion Records

Review - Venial Sin - "Sphere Of Morality"
Sábado, Março 03, 2012 Publicada por Nuno Costa
VENIAL SIN
“Sphere Of Morality”
[EP – Infektion Records]

Album Review of "Sphere of Moralty" of the portuguese metal band Venial Sin
Posted on Thursday, March 15 @ 12:34:18 CET by Admin

The album begins with the song A New Rose.
The guitars, singing, drums and basses are well put together.
While I continue to listen to the album, I have to say that this is
extended throughout the whole album.

In the second number Prepared for Battle brings the vocals a special effect.
Like there are with a choir is being worked on.

In November Fail the vocals combined with grunts, which fortunately
not the whole number by works. It sounded a bit chaotic.

Real End is then again full off guitars that sound delicious from my boxes.S
till sounds the vocals again so chaotic as to the third number.

The 5th number Vanishing into Death has then again the better vocals from the first 2 numbers.
Supplemented with powerful guitar work, beautiful drums, this leads to acute attacks of headbanging to me.
This is theway which this band should continue.

The last number is deployed with overwhelming guitars and drums. It is powerful to hear, if later the
grunts there come in.

I can recommend this album to anyone who loves good guitar work,
solid grunts, great drums and beautiful keyboards in processed.
This album gets me a recommendable!

Review: Sphere Of Morality (Venial Sin)

Sphere Of Morality (Venial Sin)
(2012, Infektion)

Venial Sin : Sphere of Morality
BY IAIN – APRIL 30, 2012
POSTED IN: SOUNDBITES : REVIEWED IN 100 WORDS

Portuguese melodic death metal outfit Venial Sin’s new EP Sphere Of Morality sees the band showcase their Jeckyl and Hyde mix of shouty fury and atmospheric, keyboard laden beauty to great effect.

When bands try to mix these two extremes the results can be a bit hit or miss, and although things do seem to lose focus in the middle, and the sheer range of styles may be a bit schizophrenic for some, there is no denying that overall everything hangs together well.

Overall, a strong effort which sees Venial Sin carry the whole thing off with considerable style.

VENIAL SIN "Sphere Of Morality" Review - by HARDCITY (GRECE)
http://hardcity.gr/index.php/en/categor ... f-morality

Infektion Records
25/02/2012
Death Metal
3.5 - Rating scale 0 - 5

WRITTEN BY DIMITRIS LAZARIS

First album by the Portuguese Death Metallers Venial Sin, which began in 2008 and recorded «Sphere Of Morality» between January and June 2011. The album is mainly based on the good work by the Pinto and Matos guitars and in to a very good Sousa’s voice that alternates styles with considerable ease. Their sound becomes extremely interesting thanks to the containing Progressive Rock components and how these relate to the final result.

Venial Sin is a tied band as a whole and with some good compositions can really make sense in the future. Negative point is in some places the drums thrown in front but this is something that can easily change in the future and also, here we deal with a true Underground album. The clean vocals give a strong dose of Progressive Rock and Alternative feel. This sounds variations and mixed style grab the listener, with guitars to flirt with Death metal in riff, and walk into a Rock world in solos.

The atmosphere that pervasive in the disk is dark and gloomy, as it should be in an album like this. Venial Sin music reminded me of Anathema first releases and especially “Serenade” era, or I’d rather say «The Silent Enigma" era but with less volume and lighter atmosphere. Here is the secret of the next conquest of Venial Sin. The Volume. Missing a little volume from the Venial Sin compositions and they probably have to work into that to improve their songs and drive their band into the next level.

The piece that won my impressions was the magnificent track in every way

«Novembers Fall». Intensely emotional with the voices of Matos and Sousa penetrate into your soul, with the guitar to make a transition from Rock reminiscent of Pink Floyd in the introduction to shoot later in a Doom death feast. This is the big trump by this band. That they can change with an incredible way their music elements, but they don't lose the essence of their music melody and their musical temperament. Also manages to dominate the space with wonderful melodies and harmonies filled. As they do for example in the first piece that opens the «Sphere Of Morality», «A New Rose» impresses by the way the melody sounds and entangle East with Rock and Death sounds creating a very catchy song. The «Real End» follows the footsteps of «Novembers Fall», while «Prepared For Battle» is one of the tracks that has inside

Death, Doom, Black and Rock, create a really great composition but lose some of its glory rather from the weak mixing. The «Vanishing Into Death» will continue in a stronger pattern of leaving for a while the Rock interference giving us a piece that lives and breathes in a Death World with the self- title track «Sphere Of Morality» to close a very promising work.

In my opinion, Venial Sin has much evidence that proves that they can give us much more in the future. Need some improvement to be done, mainly in the way that they setting up their pieces or, to find out the best mixing way that will highlight the benefits that this band has. But if they try then, probably be the first band from Portugal that has the potential to surprise us. Is to their hand... what it is in our hand; Give them some attention that they deserve to get. Assist them and support them. They deserve it in any case.

VENIAL SIN - "Sphere Of Morality"

Venial Sin - "Sphere Of Morality" (2012) - WINGS OF METAL - (NL)

Review: Venial Sin - Sphere Of Morality

Band : Venial Sin
Album : Sphere Of Morality
Release datum : 25-02-2012
Label : Infektion Records
Tracklist:

01. A New Rose
02. Prepared For Battle
03. Novembers Fall
04. Real End
05. Vanishing Into Death
06. Sphere Of Morality (Part I; Part II)

01. A New Rose
02. Prepared For Battle
03. Novembers Fall

Venial Sin comes from Portugal, a country which I have already noted (the last time was the Thee Orakle) that there a healthy music environment should prevail. Of course, not every act that great or immediate world, but there are certainly nice Hat-tricks between the large gray middle managed to transcend. The band exists since 2008 and has so far "only" a demo on his name (Reset World, 2009). Sphere Of Morality (February 2012) we can consider debut (mini) album / EP.

Venial Sin has its own understanding of the death metal genre. The base is located in the raw death, in particular the heavy grunt is an important component. Interestingly, the addition of keyboards, so that a certain touch melodic is added, as well as layers. Note: do not expect (the default) melodic death, but literally death metal with subtle additions. There will also be in addition to the aforementioned brute grunt regularly join a clean singing voice (the same singer!), Which reinforces that effect.

From opening track A New Rose appears at first that the band also know what to do with more so-called progressive death metal genre, an extensive use of acoustic guitar and tempo and mood swings are to blame for (indeed a la Opeth and relatives). An Eastern accent gives the song a pretty unique look.

Prepared For Battle fit more in the lane as I described the musical direction of the band. Brutal metal, with a layer of synthesizer music that just gives a little extra. The interaction between uptempo death, a beautiful, fragile middle and finally a strong riff toward the end allows for a balanced, slightly progressive but still bone hard track. Die! Die! Die!

Novembers Fall also was on the demo is an older track from the band. Shorter and more compact than the other tracks, especially a very nice 'little' song. Real End is also satisfying to the ear then wonderful. It creates a sound carpet you can let your own images. Much more subtle than Novembers Fall, and this time definitely not death metal. Well just beautiful, wonderful guitar work.

Vanishing Into Death is again familiar heavy, with lots turned keyboard work is a somewhat sinister atmosphere created. This unwieldy monster I like that. Like the title split into two parts this song mini-album. Progressive, versatile, very entertaining, a perfect summary of what this band is capable of. From thunderous death metal fragments to very subtle (a crackling fire) and the drop of a serene atmosphere, Venial Sin revolves hands not to.

My acquaintance with this Portuguese surprise I really enjoyed. The band has its own perspective on the traditional interpretation of progressive and melodic death metal. And this also has the technological just fine below the knee. Skill in terms of musicality, songwriting and creative atmosphere. What does a man want more?
