Centurion have been founded in 1998 by Bigos (guitar) and Sliwa (drums). The band from the very beginning has played fast and brutal death metal (inspired by a Deranged / Angel Corpse style). Polish death metal as brutal as it can be, unleashing themes of the most unholy blasphemy. "Serve No One" is an outstanding step forwards once we compare it with their previous full length work "Conquer&Rule", the sound is better than ever and the songs structure gets richer on details, with this new release Centurion sound reached a level of maturity that took ages for other bands to get into, this can only reveal the quality of their musicians.
"Serve No One" is unleashing some old school, brutal and uncompromising death metal attack! Heavy and dynamic, a true ear piercing unholy art! An obligatory release for fans of such brutal art as the one created by bands like Angel Corpse, Krisiun, Deranged, Vomitory, Lock Up, Morbid Angel, to mention few!! lł Janos Grabowski. Mix and mastering of "Serve No One" was finished in the beginning of 2011. Piotr Mittloff Kozieradzki, (Riverside) was responsible for mixing of the material and Andy Blakk (Conquest Icon, Empheris) for the mastering. Must say that the released sound is a 28 minute non-stop, brutal slaughtering death metal war machine, all of this, with smashing sound quality. Crushing, piercing, unleashing Hell as it makes path. Centurion define their sound as aggressive as it can be, yet their dynamic structures take them out of the usual Polish brutal death metal sound, such skilled diversity takes them to the next level!
For all those who don't know Centurion, I must say that they created some of the most brutal and dynamic death metal combo I heard in some time, exploring extreme metal in
its most aggressive form. The vocals by Caesar, AD Gore and Bigos shall crush thy skulls with such growls from hell, AD Gore and Bigos guitar work are true ear-piercing artillery to your ears, a delightful diversity of riffs and musical structures that gives the band an own identity and perfect combo of the heavier metal sound! Blacha pounding and creative bass lines as well as Demon's diabolical non-stop discharged drums are a true delight to the tortured ears. Centurion's sound is an apocalyptic Armageddon that will please demanding death metal fans, the sound is as deadly vicious as it can be, from old-school elements, to gore/grind touch to the most brutal death metal around!
Centurion lyrics and cover-art are a sadistic "in-your-face" violent kick in the head on any slave taking religions. Unholy, blaspheme and as direct as they can be! Crawl and be a slave for life. Hordes from hell shall bring the Armageddon to all who refuse to open their eyes and lead their life on their own. Christian dogs where made to obey, Centurion were made to conquer and raise hell! Fuck all the rest!!
In this infernal apocalyptic release it's hard to find highlights, this since the quality is damn high on all tracks but yet I wish to mention some songs that will catch your attention, songs like "Total Terror", "Ego Ultimus", "Gateways To Condemnation", "Cut The Throat", "Under The Black Banner" and off course "No One To Serve" ending triumphantly this slaughtering hellish raid!
All in all "Serve No One" is a blaspheme killing-art in the most brutal and raw form, a delight to any demented death metal addicted. From the beginning to the end you shall experience themes of the most unholy nature, a must have release for fans of such "Pestapocalypse" in form of music! Kneel and serve no one, lead your way and crush any beliefs of dead and gone gods of slavery! Impaled by religion they can only follow never rule!
