At the beginning of 2011, the band started work on an EP, that was recorded in February at the Audiohammer Studios in Sanford, Florida with producer Jason Suecof. Just before the recording of Gloom, bassist Brent Riggs and guitarist Bobby Thompson departed from the band and were replaced by Nick Schendzielos of Cephalic Carnage and Tony Sannicandro, respectively. On April 13, 2011 a video appeared on the internet of drummer, Jon Rice, performing a new song in the studio. Job for a Cowboy issued their new EP on June 7 2011, titled Gloom, which was only made available for purchase through mail order and digital download.
Depois de um album um puco meh como o Genesis, em 2009 os JFAC lançaram uma autêntica bomba que foi o Ruination. Mesmo assim, devido à sua longevidade, o album adormecia um pouco lá por meio.
Ao que parece a banda consegue oferecer melhores resultados em Ep's. Pois a sonoridade não consegue atingir muita variedade entre as músicas e os Lp's acabam por se tornar um pouco aborrecidos por causa disso.
Neste Ep, a banda está ao nível das primeiras músicas do Ruination, um death metal técnico e bruto agora ainda mais técnico, principalmente na bateria.
No seu todo até consegue obter um resultado mais satisfatório que o album anterior mesmo não tendo uma música a fechar como a Ruination.
