Must say that FACEBREAKER have become a BeAst in this Swedish typical Death Metal Art.
With their previous release "Dead, Rotten and Hungry" they have impressed, with "Infected" they surely harvested the finest Zombie musical theme of Death and Horror that you need to listen and inhale the putrefying smell of such Ancient Death Metal art! For those who still don't know FACEBREAKER, they are a brutal and straight-forward Swedish Death Metal band formed in 1999 by Janne, Roberth(Scar Symmetry, Aktiv Dödshjälp, Tortyr,ex-Devian,ex-Edge of Sanity,etc), Mikael and Jonas who had similar musical tastes and decided to form this outstanding band! They have played already in big Festivals like With Full Force Open Air, Party San Open Air or Legacy Fest for example and had always great reviews to their works worldwide!
This new album is a natural development from their previous release "Dead, Rotten and Hungry", that was an highlight in the genre already in 2008. "Infected" brings you FACEBREAKER sound on it's rotten best, imagine yourself surrounded by flesh devouring undead in hunger for your precious Life! Death is all over and you can't hide, your only chance is to get an axe and start chopping some undead meat... they are too many, get ready to be one of them and become infected by the Dead! Their lyrical theme, created by Janne Ivarsson(Guitars), explores this Horror Movie-like atmosphere to it's maximum... I sure advise you to explore them while listening to the album in a too old, too cold abandoned house... probably you will feel the chills on your spine and expect the undead to rise all over the place!!!
The return of the Undead, Swedish Death Metal reborn is a way to describe FACEBREAKER sound, the essence of this musical genre is a natural trademark of the band! The adepts will not be disappointed, and all those into horror, zombie movies will feel at home while listening to this gore infested slashing songs! "Infected" will catch the listeners ears from the beginning to the end, it's has all that spicing up Death Metal elements for the addicted to such Undead carnage. The inspiring and outstanding spine chilling guitar solos by Mika Lagreen, the dead infected voKILLs by the impressive n' restless Roberth Karlsson and all the great rotten atmosphere created by all the band members really take you to a Chaotic World where Death Dominates and the Undead hunger for your precious Life!
The Recordings, Mix and Mastering done by Jonas Kjellgren and with the undead touch of the mighty Abyss Studios - Peter Tagtgren (Hypocrisy, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir, Belphegor,etc..) are simply outstanding, other wasn't to be expected from such creators of finest quality Metal Art! The all artwork was once again another rotten, maggot infested creation from Mick Kenney (Anaal,Nathrakh,etc..), and couldn't fit better this pestilent Zombie infected World that seems to come out of some George A. Romero movie!
It's hard to pick upfavourite tracks on such a quality album, an album enriched by variation from Death Metal unleashed in a brutal, fast, vicious and furious way to tracks that flow in a slower, rotten, crawling way. This will keep you away from monotony and will addict you viciously to their sound. Still I will mention some highlights like "Creeping Flesh", "Torn to Shreds","Bloodshed", "Waiting for the Pain" that are a fine example of the frenetic n' brutal ear ripping anthems, or in the other hand "Mankind Under Siege" a true undead-slower but crowdshaking tune that will work awesome on stage, the Epic Horror title track "Infected" and my absolute favourite track "The Return". Since some time I haven't heard a bonus track that is such a killer song such as this one, a fine reason for the fans to buy the limited Digi version, it's a song that makes you pick up an hatchet and start chopping some Zombie heads! A call from the grave and highlight on this album!
"Infected" is an album for all Death Metal addicts who love some good clean Undead horror and apocalyptic album! An album for fans of bands like Dismember, Grave, Unleashed, old-Hypocrisy, Bolt Thrower, etc.. a must in every Horror Death Metal worshiper collection! FACEBREAKER rip the flesh from bone and create a true "Slasher" in form of a Metal Album. Nowhere to hide... the Undead have returned from their graves and hunger for your flesh, they smell your precious life... get ready to be infected by the Dead!!!
