Last month, maudlin of the Well composer Toby Driver put the word out to fans asking for donations to finance the recording and release of some previously unheard material. Etienne Dube, a Canadian fan who makes his money playing poker, decided to donate half his winnings for the month of July to the project, and yesterday made payment of $6,000 to ensure maudlin of the Well could record a full-length album.

maudlin of the Well will enter the studio in February to begin the recording, which will be released for free in the latter part of 2009.
