Esta é uma das mais populares bandas internacionais, os Crüxshadows começaram a tocar no início dos anos 90 numa pequena localidade na Florida.
Nos últimos 15 anos têm alcançado um grande sucesso entre as sonoridades “gothic, ebm, new wave, & dark electronic” , atingindo assim um enorme estatuto dentro da musica underground.
Eles têm realizado inúmeros concertos, tocando em vários locais entre os quais “

"The Cruxshadows manage to take the gothic sensibility to heartfelt introspection. There is a lot of pride and humility carefully woven into the body of songs which makes the entire outfit so endearing that you can't help but cheer their success. Rogue takes his lyrics to such impassioned heights when he sings the choral verses that you want to sing along and, somehow, he makes you feel like he wouldn't mind the company along the way. Many of these songs have generous dance beats geared for club play. "

On a first casual listen you might not think much of the new Cruxshadows album 'Ethernaut', although some catchy synth lines like those on Waiting To Leave swiftly grab the listeners attention. Maybe it's because of its heavy reliance on 80s style percussions and synthetizers, the subpar female backing vocals, or the simplistic guitar chords. But a few more CD spins start uncovering the underlying beauty of several tracks: Rogue's imposing vocals on the opener track and The Sentiment Inside command attention, the latter song being one of the strongest ballads on the album. The single Winterborn, previously released on the 'Frozen Embers' EP earlier this year, captures this hard-to-define Cruxshadows signature style. East is another highlight of the record, sounding almost like a modern industrialized version of Bauhaus. And interestingly enough, one of most enchanting melodies on this album is the hidden track , Nothing Left But Me, fused with all the right ingredients: Rogue's powerful voice, Rachel's captivating violin, and that undeniable romanticism. Overall, 'Ethernaut' might fall a few grains of sand short of Wishfire, but still is an honest and emotive album complementing The Cruxshadows' deserving darkwave journey."

DEAD POETS


Os Dead Poets nasceram originalmente em 2003 sob a designação “the Dead Poets Society” (influenciados notoriamente pelo célebre filme de Peter Weir), pelas mãos de Carlos “chaves” Monteiro (Nephtys, Vampyro, Tocá Rufar) e Zé Santos (Apathy), tendo efectuado durante esse ano vários concertos, entre os quais as fnacs do Colombo e Almada, assim como o Centro de Artes e Ideias Sonoras do Seixal.
O mesmo ano de 2003 viu surgir um cd promocional, que apesar da boa aceitação não terá obtido uma visibilidade notória.
Durante o ano de 2004, e apesar de alguns bons concertos, a banda decide parar por razões pessoais e incompatibilidades profissionais de alguns membros, tendo os Dead Poets dado origem a diversos projectos paralelos no e ao campo musical.
No entanto, no início de 2005, Zé Santos e Chaves decidem novamente dar uma oportunidade ao projecto, trazendo novo sangue ao mesmo: Gomez (ex-colega em Apathy, Rebellion) assume as teclas, Nelo (Betão de Rosa) a bateria. Tendo sido convidados para tocar num espectáculo de tributo a bandas portuguesas dos anos 80, os Dead Poets vêem-se forçados a pedir o baixista Paulo Dumonte “emprestado” aos Noctivagus. Mais tarde, e ocupando o lugar definitivo enquanto baixista, entra Samurai (um notório estranho que supostamente já tocou com membros de dEUS ).
Os Dead Poets gravam então uma versão de “hello, i love you” dos Doors e encontram-se neste momento a promover espectáculos assim como a compor parte da banda sonora para o filme “mandatory overtime” da produtora cinematográfica Norte-Americana SEV Inc. Entre os vários espectáculos efectuados pela banda salientam-se, por exemplo, a actuação na Semana Académica de Lisboa e a participação no Seixal Goth Fest.
