3 anos após o lançamento de «EROSION», os PROCESSOFGUILT regressam com o seu álbum melhor conseguido até à data. Com «FÆMIN», o quarteto leva ainda mais além as raízes monolíticas da sua música, exibindo um novo nível de peso e intenção, enquanto mantém intactas as atmosferas obscuras habitualmente associadas à sua música. Misturado por Andrew Schneider (nos Translator Audio Studios em NY) e masterizado por Collin Jordan (no The Boiler Room em Chicago), «FÆMIN» é composto por 5 temas concisos, mais curtos do que habitual para os padrões da banda, mas no geral mais intensos e contundentes do que qualquer coisa que tenham criado anteriormente. Movendo-se de forma segura através de uma dinâmica rítmica surpreendente, a banda explora uma abordagem vocal mais diversificada, um groove hipnótico e uma secção rítmica devastadora. Mantendo inalteradas a paixão eterna pelo feedback e a criação de riffs do tamanho do mundo, com «FÆMIN» os PROCESSOFGUILT criam paisagens sonoras desoladoras e escavam ainda mais fundo o seu lugar na cena.
«FÆMIN» marcará a estreia dos PROCESSOFGUILT pela conceituada Division Records e estará disponível em território nacional através da Bleak Recordings. "Closing the process started with «Erosion», «The Circle» presents five reinterpretations of the closing song on PROCESSOFGUILT's highly acclaimed sophomore album and opens the door for the composition process of their third full length.
Bringing together the creative minds of Sanford Parker (of Minsk, Buried At Sea, Twilight, Circle Of Animals, The High Confessions and overall producer extraordinaire), Echoes Of Yul (the Polish creators of one of the most interesting ambient/industrial debuts in recent years), DJ Mofo (of Portuguese best kept secret Bizarra Locomotiva), Bosque (one of the leading forces of bleak drone/doom/black art) and Sons Of Bronson (featuring members of Spanish sludge masters Lords Of Bukkake), «The Circle» offers a deconstructive circle through an erosive world of calm versus chaos. Besides the five remixes, this abstract descent begins with a new prespective on Erosion's closing track, now (re)mastered – as all the other tracks – by the well known James Plotkin (of OLD, Khanate fame).
Pressed as a beautiful limited (and numbered) digisleeve edition of 300 copies, through a partnership between the band and the newly founded Bleak Recordings, this record will be first available throughout the next month as two separate pre-orders on both the PROCESSOFGUILT and the label's site. Either you buy just the record or a special package featuring the CD and an exclusive t-shirt printed on demand – all orders will be shipped during December. A very reduced quantity of «The Circle» will be obtainable through select record shops and on digital format in January.

Podem ter estado em silêncio durante alguns meses – ou, quiçá, a gravar envoltos numa nuvem de fumo numa qualquer localização alentejana remota – mas os PROCESS OF GUILT estão finalmente prontos para iniciar o seu plano de acções para 2009. «Erosion» sucede a «Renounce», e é o próximo passo do processo que o colectivo eborense iniciou em 2000. Por esta altura o disco já está pronto; totalmente gravado, misturado e masterizado. No entanto, ainda antes de fazer chegar aos escaparates o seu segundo registo de longa-duração, o quarteto formado por Hugo Santos, Nuno David, Custódio Rato e Gonçalo Correia acaba de disponibilizar três edições limitadas que têm como principal objectivo fechar o ciclo criado em volta de «Renounce».
«PROCESS GUILT / CAÏNA Split EP» (MLI1007)
O há muito aguardado e, até aqui, eternamente adiado EP – em vinil preto, de 10” - partilhado com o mestre do mistério inglês, CAÏNA. Os PROCESS OF GUILT contribuem com a sua versão de «But I Am Still», dos shoegazers finlandeses This Empty Flow. Gravada durante as sessões de gravações de «Renounce» permitirá perceber melhor o salto que o colectivo deu dos últimos dois anos. Andrew Curtis-Brignell, por seu lado, faz a ponte entre os seus dois álbuns e contribui com o inédito «Borderland». A capa e o grafismo são da autoria de Seldon Hunt; a edição é limitada a 300 exemplares.
«DEMISING GRACE» CD Reissue (MLI 1010)
Disponibilizada originalmente em 2004, a há muito esgotada segunda maqueta dos PROCESS OF GUILT é agora alvo de uma reedição em CD-R profissional com capas, num original formato A5 idealizado e montado pelos elementos da banda. O som foi totalmente masterizado, sendo que esta é uma óptima oportunidade para conhecer melhor os primórdios do colectivo e temas como «Wasteland», «Instant» ou a versão original de «Fragments». Uma edição limitada a 100 cópias numeradas.

Há quem ache que o formato morreu de todo. Nós acreditamos que não, sentimos que está a ganhar uma força considerável e, acima de tudo, sabemos que ainda há por aí muitos curiosos, completistas e apaixonados a quem o coração não deixa enganar. E nostálgicos também, provavelmente. Achámos, por tudo isso, que «Renounce» merecia um tratamento especial. Mais orgânico. Mais compacto. E, digamos, mais “de culto” do que qualquer outro. PROCESS OF GUILT INICIAM NOVO CICLO
No próximo Domingo, dia 2 de Março, os portugueses PROCESS OF GUILT juntam-se aos holandeses Officium Triste e aos espanhóis Autumnal para um concerto a realizar na Junta de Freguesia de Panóias. A noite promete ser arrebatadora e memorável, sobretudo porque permitirá tomar um primeiro contacto com algum do material a incluir no próximo registo de estúdio da banda – em estreia absoluta.
Esta data corresponderá à fase final do ciclo de promoção ao aclamado disco de estreia «Renounce», durante o qual o quarteto tocou de norte a sul do país – impressionando audiências com as suas actuações demolidoras e partilhando o palco com bandas tão diversas como Katatonia, The Ocean, Intronaut, Swallow The Sun, Napalm Death, Watain e Moho, entre muitas outras. “Os espectáculos têm sido a componente mais agradável da fase pós-lançamento do «Renounce»”, afirma o vocalista/guitarrista Hugo Santos em jeito de balanço. “Notámos um enorme crescimento durante este período, que se tem traduzido numa maior entrega tanto por parte do grupo como do público”.
A banda formada por Hugo Santos, Nuno David na guitarra, Custódio Rato no baixo e Gonçalo Correia na bateria passará os próximos meses encerrada na sala de ensaios, onde decorre, neste momento, o processo de composição para o amplamente antecipado segundo registo de longa-duração. “O esboço do novo material corresponde à exploração de novas dinâmicas e atmosferas; os temas soam mais dinâmicos em termos de ritmos e melodias, acentuando a costela mais lenta e negra da nossa sonoridade“.
Entretanto, o colectivo eborense tem disponibilizado de forma regular [em http://www.youtube.com/ProcessofGuilt] alguns vídeos captados durante os concertos de promoção a «Renounce» e, para que os seus seguidores não se sintam privados de nova música até ao lançamento do novo álbum, tem já agendado um lançamento partilhado [em vinil de 10”] com a misteriosa entidade britânica conhecida como Caïna [http://www.myspace.com/cainaband] durante a Primavera. “A ideia de fazermos um lançamento deste género já nos acompanha desde a edição do «Renounce»”, explica o porta-voz dos Process Of Guilt. “O objetivo era criar algo diferente da nossa sonoridade habitual, por isso escolhemos fazer uma versão de «[But] I Am Still» – um original dos finlandeses This Empty Flow que, no fundo, estão entre as nossas referências. Durante o último ano surgiram alguns registos que, pela sua “estranheza”, nos captaram a atenção e perspectivaram parcerias a ter em conta para este split. Neste âmbito o último trabalho de Caïna, «Mourner», pareceu-nos eclético o suficiente para podermos efectivar uma colaboração diferente do que seria expectável de ambas as bandas”.
