Ele é "brutally honest" e ate certo ponto gosto disso. mas tambem exagera e chega a ser mete-nojo muitas vezes ali no forum da hellride.
Sublinho estas passagens da entrevista....
Hellride Music: Does is ever get in your craw that Solstice once harboured members of cash-in, sell-the-T-shirt acts like Cradle of Filth and My Dying Bride? HA! In all honesty, it seems to me that Solstice was Rich Walker... from its decidedly anti-Christian stance, to its Englander for Englanders overall vibe. Would you agree or disagree and why?
Rich: There’s really nothing to get annoyed about at all, both bands are recognised internationally as fucking jokes in the underground metal scene, I mean, can anyone truly say they can appreciate the musical output of these fucking feeble musical hacks and then sit down and listen to a REAL metal album? No, I think not. Both bands have been built on hype, crap imagery and truly dreadful T-shirt designs. It is absolutely nothing of lasting value or real depth. John joined COF to make some money and live the life of a rock star, which he did, he had it all, and he blew it all, so fair play to the guy – though he tried to rejoin SOLSTICE a few weeks after he left we told him to get fucked, he then joined COF. So in the end, he got what he REALLY wanted. You can’t help but like the guy because he is so shallow there’s not a single bad bone in his body, but the band, ha ha ha, awful. Eventually he left them, after getting sick of the demented performing chimp they have as a vocalist and his tyrannical abuse of power, not to mention the chimp was making thousands more than he was…
The other fellow who went to MDB, Porkboy, was simply a devious little fat middle class turd, his contribution was beyond negligible, it bordered on parody – never turning up to rehearsals on time, eating all the fucking food in the band house when he lived at home with his rich parents, sweating a lot, scrounging beer and smokes, and to top it all, getting himself beaten up by two 15 year old kids one night and ringing us up from a call box crying like a fucking baby, I can tell you, we laughed our cocks off that night!! So, good fucking riddance to him we thought – just to set the record straight, Wee Jock McPlop, the other guitarist of MDB claimed Porkboy wrote all of NEW DARK AGE, well that would be pretty good going as he wasn’t even in the band when 90% of the album was wrote when John Piras was still with us……So, no thanks to Wee Jock for the bullshit trying to sell your own shitty albums on the backs of mine!! You cunt!
If I am SOLSTICE, well so are the other guys too. No one is bigger than the band, despite what anyone may think or say. This band is testament to the iron will of the Englander’s.
Hellride Music: Now is your chance to let off a little of that signature Rich Walker abrasive steam - give us your unexpurgated thoughts on the modern state of Heavy Metal as we usher in 2007. Also, give us your thoughts on the selling and buying of Heavy Metal... from my own perspective, with the advent of MP3 CD rips and digital downloads, it seems like Heavy Metal fans lost their way. Our music is rooted in 35 plus years of tradition, a tight-knit group that supports the bands and the music. Now it seems like some kid in Peoria burns a CD or vinyl, and Heavy Metal fans download it for free. The bands get shit, the fans may get the music, but they don't get the *soul* of the music... the order of the tracks, the art, the liner notes, the lyrics. The music is only one aspect of a much larger package. Or am I old and in the way in my thinking?
Rich: The fans are not real anymore, faceless designer rebels wanting everything for free, wanting everything instantly. There is no anticipation of a new release, no time to listen to an album properly, to digest its contents and draw a real conclusion to the musical contents, no heart and soul left in the real pride of been an outsider. Today I see kids walking down the streets dressed like fucking clowns. Weird hybrids of rapper/goth/punk and metal fan, with face paint, pants so big you could easily fit Karl Simon and Jason McCash into them at the same time and still have room for Tom Phillips to dangle out of the fly, wacky scary beards that are in dreadlocks with ethnic beads, platform boots, Cradle of Filth T-Shirts and Slipknot lunch boxes… It drives me to new extremes of contempt. This is not a result of some anti-fashion statement made by the actual fans, but a ploy to create a homogenous music scene by cigar smoking businessmen sat around a board room where the same band can be remarketed and sold under a different name over and over again as digital downloads, or worse still with bands like The Sword, take four idiots and give them a complete image and musical overhaul to sell them to a different audience completely than the one they originally planned to exploit, Piss on them all.
They try to take the filth, the leather, the denim, the spikes and chains out of metal, turn it into something you can play to your fucking grandmother, they’re trying now, and they’ll succeed if every reader here does not fight back against the destruction of the underground by these leeches. Metal is the music of ALL generations, not just bored suburban mall brats in their teens – and I feel it’s up to us older folk to educate the younger generations in the real alternative.
You’re not old in your way of thinking Barnes, maybe in body (Which I know is decrepit and ravaged by time) – your way of thinking is timeless, always will be, and most importantly – I appreciate it.

ainda assim tem um lado didáctico, acho bonito de se ver.
E The Sword é assim tão terrível? Quer dizer, têm ar de míudos e o álbum deles é daquelas coisas tão bem produzidas que se fica na dúvida de onde vem o mérito, mas ainda assim gosto de várias malhas e acho que tem o seu valor, não lhe fiquei indiferente.

Eu nao gostei dos Sword achei mto vazio o conteudo. Têm uns riffs á Cathedral mas parecem uma banda de Thrash q se lembrou ao ultimo minuto de mudar o seu som.
Tenho andado a ouvir muito o "open fire" dos Alabama Thunder Pussy esta diferente dos outros completamente heavy metal mas gostei esp. pela prestação vocal do Kyle Thomas ex-Exhorder.
O que acham do disco? O meu favorito é o fulton hill, nao por ser um dos mais aproximados ao doom mas o mais variado com songwriting de alto nivel.
