I find the Chilean miners too mainstream now… I preferred them when they were a bit more underground.

I'm happy i grew up when i did. One of the reasons is for that right there.
When kids tv networks showed new cartoons THEY KNEW HOW TO SHOW THEM.
They devoted a whole night, a whole bump filled with new cartoons and they spent the whole week hyping you up for this shit. You got home from school on monday and just threw everything you had on the floor and turned the tv on to see what was instore for this friday. Who was going to be the host this week? You saw the promo and you'd either be disappointed "awww the mayor is hosting AGAIN?! He just hosted 2 weeks ago!" or you got all giddy when you heard that Mother fuckin' COW was hosting.
Your week slowly dragged on until it was that magical day again. Your tv would just explode with fun when you turned it on at 7pm.
Now a days, there is no hype, there is no buildup, all you see is "Hey new episode of some show is on friday" but this wasn't enough, NO! IT WASN'T! They completely ravaged the sacred night that was friday night and instead of having one giant power block of new shows, you had one new show a night. You had "that show" on Tuesday. You had "this show" Wednesday, and you had "some show" on Thursday. No build up at all, not comical witty guest hosting the show, just the show.
I take pride in knowing that i grew up with Cartoon Cartoon Fridays, and i pity the children of today who have "some show" playing tonight at 8.
