Polish Extreme Black / Death metallers HATE have refined their formula and have created an album that re-establishes them as a serious player on the scene. Please welcome Tremendum – out on May 5th via Napalm Records!

"The drawing on the cover depicts a nighthawk (Polish: lelek), a nocturnal bird that was treated with great respect by Slavic tribes in pre-Christian times. Nighthawks were believed to bring souls to this world and take them away from dying people. In that case they gathered in big numbers screeching for long hours. So they were called „messengers of death”. As this album has different Slavic references, we chose Nighthawk as a symbol that best conveys its meaning."

One of the most consistently enthralling groups out there, Ulver, (read their in depth Louder Than War interview here) have announced a new album!
Following last year’s release of ATGCLVLSSCAP, a massively acclaimed album of mainly improvisational, rock and electronic soundscapes, comes news of a brand new studio album from Ulver – their first since 2011’s Wars of the Roses.
The Assassination of Julius Caesar arrives on 7th April via House Of Mythology. The album has been recorded and produced by Ulver themselves and mixed by legendary producer Martin ‘Youth’ Glover with Michael Rendall.
Ever evolving, Ulver have never been afraid to make bold musical statements nor to broaden their already expansive sonic palette, and this new album is no exception. We predict that jaws shall drop!

Good news are coming from the cold isle of Iceland. Sólstafir have announced that their sixth studio album will be entitled Berdreyminn (which means a "dreamer of forthcoming events") and is scheduled for release on May 26th via Season Of Mist. The band has shared the cover artwork crafted by Adam Burke and tracklist of the forthcoming album and more details are expected to be unveiled soon.

MY DYING BRIDE - sign to Nuclear Blast!



For 27 years, MY DYING BRIDE from West Yorkshire have been the voice of the hopeless and broken, combining haunting sounds with crushing misery and melancholy. With their signature sound they've shaped the doom metal scene like barely any other act and integrated both soft violin melodies and violent death metal growls into their music, whilst always staying strictly loyal to themselves. And since the early Nineties, the band's masterminds and founding members Andrew Craighan and Aaron Stainthorpe forged beautiful grief into twelve studio albums with songs of epic length.
However for their 13th release, the band is now bound for new horizons and proudly announces their signing to Nuclear Blast Records!

"It is with great pleasure that MY DYING BRIDE can announce they will be joining forces with the formidable Nuclear Blast Records in early 2017 and have already begun working on material for the next LP and singles. Since MY DYING BRIDE rarely leave their damp catacombs to perform live rituals, each show is a highlight in itself and on April 22nd, the Brits will expose their legendary album »Turn Loose The Swans« in its entire length at Roadburn Festival. Together with Shaun 'Winter' Taylor-Steels on drums and a special backdrop lighting, the band will haunt the Dutch stage and deliver a truly unique experience.

Satyricon

After two and a half years of writing songs, the day is finally here: We have officially begun the recording of the new Satyricon album. It will be a on and off process, mostly on, from now till July. The record is scheduled for a Sep 22nd release with a European tour kicking off the same weekend.

HATE bandleader ATF Sinner on the story behind the song: :
“The lyric for “Asuric Being” is inspired by Rudolf Steiner's philosophical concept of Asuras -„Spirit of Darkness” or spirit of Self-hood (egoism). It has a lot of archaic references and a history that long pre-dates Christianity. A truly great concept that has become a big source of inspiration to me. As for the music, you may notice how much we have refined the formula since „Crusade”. „Tremendum” is a profound, organic and adventurous album. We are really proud of it!”
