ARCH ENEMY: New Album Title Announced

"Swedish/German extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY have set "Khaos Legions" as the title of their new album, due in May via Century Media Records. The CD is currently being recorded at Sweet Spot Studio in the south of Sweden with engineer Rickard Bengtsson (who produced 2005's "Doomsday Machine").

Commented ARCH ENEMY drummer Daniel Erlandsson: "We had a very inspiring and creative time writing this album. I think this is definitely evident when listening to the new songs. There's tons of variation in the material, ranging all the way from very melodic to extremely heavy.

"As you can expect there's no shortage of killer riffs and intricate guitar work; the Amott brothers [Michael and Chris] have come up with some very cool yet demanding ideas!

"This album has some of the fastest songs I've ever recorded, along with a bunch of heavy pounding mid-tempo songs.

"As always, it's difficult to describe music in words, but rest assured — this album will be one heavy fucker!"

Não sei se já alguém colocou isto. Soube disto no mail da Metal-Blade acerca do novo álbum de Amon Amarth. Coisa interessante...

7000 TONS OF METAL

Imagine starting the year in style. In January 2011, 40 Heavy Metal bands and 2,000 fans will go to the Caribbean to take over the luxury cruise ship "Majesty of the Seas" for a 5 day and 4 night trip of a lifetime.

Make no mistake, this is not one of the cruises where you share the ship with regular cruise guests... This is 100% Heavy Metal! Tons of onboard live shows on several in and outdoor stages, open mic nights, bars that never close, a fun-and-sun-filled day on the beautiful island of Cozumel (Mexico) and an opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario that has no comparison. It's like everyone has a backstage pass!

Algumas bandas: Amon Amarth, Blind Guardian, Dark Tranquillity, Death Angel, Destruction, Ensiferum, Epica, Exodus, Finntroll, Forbidden, Iced Earth, Marduk, Moonspell, Sanctuary, Saxon, Sodom, Testament, Unleashed, Voivod...

Heavy metal saves Norwegian boy from wolves

A 13-year-old Norwegian boy avoided being attacked by wolves by playing a heavy metal song on his mobile phone, the Zvuki.ru music web portal reported on Thursday.

The incident took place in the central Norwegian municipality of Rakkestad. Four wolves, who appeared before the boy when he was returning home from school, were scared away by the noise coming from the boy's mobile phone, the Russian website said.

The song that saved the boy's life was by thrash metal band Megadeth.

The boy said he had been told that in order to avoid being attacked by wolves one should not run away from them but attack them.

MOSCOW, January 20 (RIA Novosti)

Afinal foi com Creed. Não admira.

Shouting stars WATAIN just won the national Grammy Award in the Hard Rock category! The ceremony was held at the Royal Opera in Stockholm, Sweden, last Monday. Congratulations, guys!

Imagem

Here is the full comment of frontman Erik Danielsson: "I always pictured the criteria for entering the Grammy awards to be those of mainstream music in general; conformity, insipidity and commercial potential. In other words, I was quite surprised when we even got nominated. But considering all the blood, sweat and tears we have put into this our life's mission during the past 13 years, it is by all means an award well deserved. And no matter what the parameters were by which the jury made their decision; the Devil won again!

"Even if this music genre will always be one with adversity and wildhearted insanity as its very roots, the artistic value must be acknowledged not only on an underground level but in any cultural circumstance, high or low. Acknowledged I say, not necessarily appreciated. And in a country like Sweden it is about fucking time, for here it has been neglected and stupefied by the mass media for years, while legends such as Dissection and Bathory have been writing and releasing some of the most monumental albums in music history. The Grammy that we have won with Watain is a step towards rectification in that matter, and a sign of that the artistry and infernal creativity that permeates Watain and this genre is being taken seriously. For that we are proud and delighted in accepting the award. As for its market value or importance in a "music industry context" we sincerely could not care less."

In their home country, WATAIN are also nominated for the P3 Gold Awards in the "Rock / Metal" category, and for the Manifest Awards in the "Rock" category, which ceremonies take place respectively on January 22nd and February 4th.

Os Grammys significam estupidez, conformismo e comercialismo, mas porque nós ganhámos um, deixaram de o significar.
