MOONSORROW, ENSIFERUM, AMORPHIS Members Featured On New OCTOBER FALLS Album

Helsinki, Finland-based metallers OCTOBER FALLS will release their fourth album, "The Plague Of A Coming Age", on March 15 on CD and vinyl via Debemur Morti Productions. According to a press release, the CD sees "the band continu[ing] to explore its exquisitely sonorous world, deeply melancholic, subtly aggressive and always divinely melodic." Once again, Mikko Lehto gathered gifted musicians around him for the recording: Marko Tarvonen (MOONSORROW) on drums and Sami Hinkka (ENSIFERUM) on bass. A very special guest contributed clean vocals on two songs: Tomi Joutsen (AMORPHIS). The visual art was imagined and painted by talented Argentinian artist Santiago Caruso.

Guitarist ROB CAGGIANO Quits ANTHRAX

After a long and successful run as guitarist for the legendary thrash metal act ANTHRAX, Rob Caggiano has decided that it's time to move on and focus on his other passion: producing records for the time being. Already an acclaimed rock and metal producer, Rob has amassed a long list of production credits working with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH (on their Grammy-nominated classic "Nymphetamine"), THE DAMNED THINGS, and Jesse Malin to name a few. Rob's production work on the most recent ANTHRAX studio album, "Worship Music", received high recognition, as the track "I'm Alive" received a Grammy nomination for "Best Rock/Metal Performance".

Novo projecto do Tuomas Saukkonen

"After 14 successful years with seven studio albums, mastermind Tuomas Saukkonen has now decided to put an end to his dark/melancholic melodic death metal band BEFORE THE DAWN as well as to all of his other current projects, including BLACK SUN AEON, DAWN OF SOLACE and ROUTASIELU.

"I've already been thinking about this for a few years," Tuomas says in a statement. "At some point, I realized I was keeping the band alive without feeling right anymore. I lost the passion to make music my own way. Now that BEFORE THE DAWN is done, it's logical for me to clean the table completely and start building something from scratch again."

As far as his new goals are concerned, the multi-instrumentalist explains: "From now on, I'll solely focus on my new band called WOLFHEART — all my attention and energy shall flow into it. My main intention is to create a band that combines BEFORE THE DAWN's engery with the low-tuned, dark, heavy and epic atmosphere of BLACK SUN AEON." "

GUITARIST JOCHEM JACOBS PARTS WAYS WITH TEXTURES

Ladies and gentlemen, it has been a bit quiet around the TEXTURES camp lately.
It is for a valid reason:

After 12 years being a big part of the band, Jochem has decided to leave TEXTURES. It is sad to see him leave, but we respect his decision fully. Since the very start of TEXTURES, Jochem has helped the band get to where it is right now and his input will always be part of our music.

Jochem Jacobs:
"I've been with TEXTURES from the very beginning and have had a lot of great adventures in the past 12 years, musically and socially! It was
a dream coming true, I was traveling across the world with my best friends and making music!!! What more could you want?!! Strange as it
may sound, my priorities changed gradually during the years...
Now the time has come for me to start doing more other stuff. There are so many things in life that gives me goosebumps!
I'm really busy producing great bands and other music at my studio and I want to focus more on that, I will keep on rocking!!!!
Also, I will keep being involved with Textures and will continue producing future TEXTURES albums \m/"

It's a big setback for the band, but we are fully determined to keep on making music. Therefore the search for a replacement guitarist has begun!

Segundo o sitio Whiplash, o filme dos Nightwish não teve o sucesso esperado na Finlândia.

"A banda finlandesa de Symphonic Metal Nightwish lançou no mês de novembro nos cinemas finlandeses a segunda parte do projeto de seu último álbum de estúdio 'Imaginaerum', um filme longa metragem de fantasia, chamado também de "Imaginaerum", produzido pela Solar Films, Scene National e Caramel Films. No entanto a produção de quase 4 milhões de Euros não significou sucesso nas terras finlandesas.
Segundo o site Yle.fi o filme está enfrentando relutância do público finlandês. ‎"Há mais de um mês o filme Imaginaerum estreou, porém ele não alcançou o sucesso esperado. Até agora, ele só foi visto nos telões por um pouco mais de 7.000 espectadores. Até então, a equipe contabilizou exatos 7.518 espectadores. Na semana antes do Natal, por exemplo, o filme só teve 33 espectadores no país."
Já o site Episodi.fi relata mais números do fracasso: "... Imaginaerum, porém, parece ter se tornado um grande fracasso. Desde a Premiere, o filme conseguiu obter um número de somente 7,518 expectadores no país. E esse número não crescerá, já que o filme não está mais sendo exibido nas 20 salas de cinemas e o Finnkino (a maior rede de cinemas da Finlândia) só está fazendo pequenas apresentações diárias.
O custo do Imaginaerum foi de 3.7 milhões de euros. As estatísticas mostram que a venda de ingressos rendeu, até o momento, US$ 87.670, ou cerca de 67.000 euros. Além disso, exibições que iam ser feitas em alguns países foram canceladas. O fan club oficial de Tuomas Holopainen da Inglaterra, ia organizar uma exibição em Londres, ideia apoiada pela banda mas que foi cancelada pela própria produtora finlandesa Solar Films.
O filme deve ser lançado em Blu-Ray e DVD na primavera europeia."
