"FORMER HURTLOCKET DRUMMER DIES October 26th 2006
Dan Ditella, former drummer withgroove-thrashers Hurtlocker, passed away October 18 due to complications in rehab. A statement from the band said, "The details are still sketchy so at this point we can't say too much. Our thoughts go out to his family, especialy his brother Mike, and his mother as well as all of Dan's friends.
"During his time with Hurtlocker, he struggled with many demons, but he was a good kid with a big heart. We only hope that Dan found the peace he couldn't find while he was here."

Quem não conhece os Hurtlocker são uma das bandas mais potentes da nova vaga de Metal e para mim uma das melhores editaram o album Fear In A Handful Of Dust pela Napalm.

AUTUMNBLAZE disbanded - 2006/10/26
After Markus B. parted ways with all his co-musicians at the end of last year in order to continue Autumnblaze as a studio project with Schwadorf, the working model they used for their albums "Bleak" and "Mute Boy Sad Girl", he now officially announces the end of Autumnblaze.
"In the months following the 'dismissal' of my co-musicians, I had enough time to contemplate the future of Autumnblaze," Markus discloses. "In the end, I have come to the conclusion that the name Autumnblaze doesn't mean anything to me anymore, and that in the last years it seemed to me more as a stranglehold threatening to suffocate me. Add to this some personal dramas, which I don't wish to elaborate on in public. A second reason for my decision is the songs I have written this year. Music-wise, they wouldn't fit into the Autumnblaze scheme at all."
Still, Markus is going to continue with music; he has recently founded a project called Sidewaytown that is going to represent "an interesting mixture of influences from Post Rock, Electronica, Progressive, and Shoegazer." Among others, Mathias Lodmalm (Cemetary, Sundown) will be assisting him in this endeavour.
"I'm very sorry for all those who are fond of Autumnblaze. There is no reason to grieve, however - my music is going to live on in Sidewaytown," Markus says.

SEVERE TORTURE (NED)
ON THE ROAD: "WITH A MINIMAL BACKLINE AND NO TRIGGERS WE DID OUR BEST TO TURN THE PLACE UPSIDE DOWN"
After we left Spain we had one show to do in Dijon (FR) before going to Italy. We played in this venue called The Vapeur and it was an amazing venue! Best catering sofar and huge stage as well. 300 people showed up and we had the chance to play a extra long set with Sawn Off & Consuming the Dying added.
For the next days we are playing 4 shows in Italy, which is new to us because usually we only play Italy once when we're on tour. The first show took place in the city of Bologna. The venue was huge and way to big for the package we had so it appeared al little strange at first. But luckily, the people that showed up were up or a solid night of deathmetal. The atmosphere was great and the crowd gave us a warm welcome back to Italy. Grazi!
Rome was the setting for the second day in Italy. We arrived in time to do some serious sightseeing, so we got the chance to visit the Colloseum and such. This was kinda cool since we were playing Shadows of Rome in the nightliner at night for a couple of weeks now so it was cool to be able to witness where the carnage used to take place. After we went out of the tourist mode we did a show for a bloodthirsty crowd at the Alpheus. It was great to hear people screaming for songs ranging from "Misanthropic Carnage" to "End of Christ".
The next 2 shows on the list were Siena and Padova. Club Sonar in Siena started out a little calm but turned into a good show after we did our little trick... Next was Padova and for the last Italian show it was great! People were really into us and went crazy! We stayed at the cub pretty long and had a nice little party outside till early in the morning...
After 4 days we left Italy and invaded Austria. First on the list was Althofen and club Endorphin turned out to be a really small bar with a tiny stage in the corner. With a minimal backline and no triggers we did our best to turn the place upside down and that was much appreciated by the fans. After the show we headed off to Salzburg were we woke up at 10 in the morning. Time enough to do some sightseeing and get some real breakfast. Rockhaus is a great venue and we did a great show. After the show we took our place in the bar next to the venue and after Vaders show the whole tour entourage joined the party!
Last show in Austria was Vienna and we have good memories of Vienna. In the past we played in the Arena but this time the show was in a venue called Planet Music. Great venue and the show was organised by the guys from Goddamned X who were support act since Italy. They did a very good job and the show went very smooth.

AFTER FOREVER (NED)
SIGNS DEAL WITH NUCLEAR BLAST: "THIS IS THE RIGHT TIME TO CHOOSE FOR A LABEL THAT CAN HELP US REALISING OUR DREAMS"
There have been a lot of rumours already, now it's finally official: Another superb band has found its way to the realms of Nuclear Blast – AFTER FOREVER! The dutch act around front amazon Floor Jansen (also known from various guest appearances for projects of Arjen Lucassen / AYREON) is specialized in thrilling Melodic / Gothic Metal and ranks among the "big ones" of the scene in their home country. The band already toured with NIGHTWISH and had appearances at EVERY important festival BeNeLux-wide (such as Lowlands, Pinkpop, Graspop, Dynamo Open Air, Fields Of Rock), not to forget a steadily growing fan base in South America, France, Spain and Germany!
Guitarist Sander Gommans about the signing: "AFTER FOREVER has grown a lot the past years, we´ve done more and more shows and festivals worldwide and also experienced a lot of improvement musically. I feel that AFTER FOREVER is stronger than ever, as a group but also musically, this is the right time to choose for a label that can help us realising our dreams! Because the core of the AFTER FOREVER songs is metal orientated, it´s a very natural decision for us to choose for Nuclear Blast!"
AFTER FOREVER have almost finished the recordings for their new, yet untitled album, which is going to be released in Spring 2007. Produced by Gordon Groothedde (Dutch studio luminary), the record not only contains great new songs but also an overwhelming session with the Prague Symphonic Orchestra! A tour afterwards is already planned as well…

DISIPLIN:
"T’S TIME TO SETTLE THE SCORE...
After two highly appreciated albums released through Moonfog Productions, extraordinary good reviews, and nothing but positive response both from our fans and the press during our years in this pest-infected scene, ”a little something” has come up that we feel giving an official statement about.
After our successful performance at the Inferno Festival in Norway earlier this year, there have been put out rumours that DISIPLIN is a nsbm/nazi-related band.
Believe us when we say that we’re able to handle anything, anywhere, anytime - but now we’re fucking fed up! Why? Because these ridiculous rumours start to make certain problematic issues regarding our forthcoming releases.
We have to underline that we know WHO put this rumours out. The irony of all this, is that there are only Germans involved. We’ve got the names, who they work for, what they work with, and last but not least copies of emails proving their fucking nonsense.
If not these certain individuals officially come up with a statement/apology regarding this issue, we will not hesitate in making those emails and names official.
Every intelligent person with the ability to think for themselves, would understand that the few musicpress-journalists working against bands are nothing but bad news- mainly for themselves.
DISIPLIN is built upon Satanism and Willpower! Nothing more, nothing less!
Fuck you and fuck everything you stand for!
Blasphemic regards
DISIPLIN"

DISINCARNATE (USA)
RERELEASE OF DEBUT ALBUM AND JAMES MURPHY WORKING ON NEW MATERIAL: ""I AM REBUILDING AND WRITING NEW STUFF...AND I STILL OWE NUCLEAR BLAST A RECORD!"
Disincarnate's "Dreams of the Carrion Kind" album is another classic title from Roadrunner Records' archives that needs to be re-discovered! This is a perfect album from one of the first bands that stretched the boundaries of death metal. It's taken a legendary status over the years being more in demand now than it was in the 90's! Re-edition in new digipack edition, digitally remastered using 24-Bit process, limited to hand numerated 2000 copies. Includes 3 previously unreleased bonus tracks and liner notes done by a mastermind of death metal guitar - James Murphy himself!
Tracklist:
1.De Profundis (Intro)
2.Stench of Paradise Burning
3.Beyond the Flesh
4.In Sufferance
5.Monarch of the Sleeping
6. Soul Erosion
7. Entranced
8. Confine of Shadows
9. Deadspawn
10. Sea of Tears
11. Immemorial Dream (Outro)
Bonus tracks:
12. Stench Of Paradise Burning - (demo)
13. Soul Erosion - (demo)
14. Confine Of Shadows - (demo)
Disincarnate was a part of the underground death metal movement of the early '90s, led by one of the genre's best-known guitarists - James Murphy. It was through his technically innovative work on classic albums like Death's Spiritual Healing, Obituary's Cause Of Death, and Cancer's Death Shall Rise that Murphy gained his reputation as one of death metal's primo axe men, and after sharpening his skills with each of those groups, it only seemed natural that he form a band of his own.
"I just wanted to have an outlet for the new music I was coming up with." - Murphy. "By the time I was in Obituary I had started writing in a whole new direction...it just happened naturally, from my perspective, but it was coming out like a cool mixture of extreme technical death metal, catchy melodic riffs, and all-out doom. It was way too far removed from what Obituary was doing at the time and they felt it didn't really fit their style. As soon as I realized that, Disincarnate was born."
Murphy started searching for members for his project in early 1992. "Vocalist Bryan Cegon and guitarist Jason Carman were playing together in a really young new band called Infernus. I really liked their ideas, and they fit my mental picture of what I wanted to hear with my music very well. The drummer, Tommy Viator, approached me at my work, the once world-famous Ace's Records, and handed me a tape. It sounded like the best I had gotten to that point so I quickly set up an audition. Tommy worked out great and his playing fit the music very well."
Murphy ended up playing the bass parts himself. Disincarnate recorded only one album during their existence. "Dreams of the Carrion Kind" released in 1993 on Roadrunner Records was a minor masterwork of the death metal genre. While the lyrics matter were your standard grizzly death metal fare, some of the band's music detoured into prog-metal. Taking elements of the styles Murphy had helped define with his previous bands, Disincarnate spewed out a precise. Progressive. And above all, vicious slab of death metal. Unwaveringly aggressive and grim. Yet never sacrificing structure and even hints of melody for simple brutality. Despite the intense musical ofering on the inside, and the macabre and brilliant cover art from Dave McKean on the outside, Dreams Of The Carrion Kind was not the runaway success that Roadrunner might have hoped for. When touring plans didn't pan out either. Cegon and Carman eventually enrolled in college, while Viator returned to his job as an industrial electrician, Fortunately, Murphy got a call to join his favorite thrash band, Testament, playing with them for several years. He next did extensive guest work with Konkhra, while also cutting two solo albums for the Shrapnel. As for second album, Murphy planned to revive the band until fate took a nasty turn.
"I actually started working on music in '99," he says. "I managed to work out a deal with Nuclear Blast for a new Disincarnate CD with me producing, since I owned my own studio by then in Oakland. I received the budget and outfitted my studio with a load of new gear, but shortly after that my memory goes black. I somehow ended up homeless and all my gear was stolen and I don't really know how it all happened." Luckily the possibility of a new version of Disincarnate has surfaced again: "I am rebuilding and writing new stuff - and I still owe Nuclear Blast a record!" Whatever the future holds for James Murphy and Disincarnate, Dreams Of The Carrion Kind has already cemented the band's reputation as one of death metal's finest overlooked outfits, as well as solidifying the status of the man himself.

Swedish black metallers WATAIN have inked a deal with Season of Mist to issue their third full-length album in Europe. The tentative release date is set for March 2007. A European tour will follow.
After the release of the highly acclaimed "Casus Luciferi" album in 2003 and the tour with DISSECTION in 2004, WATAIN has been forging and wielding material that clearly reveals their true potential as craftsmen of lethal black metal magic. The recording of the album will take place at the infamous Necromorbus Studio (FUNERAL MIST, MALIGN, OFERMOD, etc).
According to a press release, "Those who experienced WATAIN on stage can witness of a blood-soaked, rusty metallic machinery embodying every aspect of the traditional Satanic black metal cult, re-living and taking further the sinister legacy of VENOM, HELLHAMMER and MAYHEM. But believe us when we say 'you have seen nothing yet!'"
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GOSPEL OF THE HORNS:
The new album has been recorded and is being mastered on Nov 14th. Artwork is due at the beginning of December & the scheduled release date is February 1st 2007. EVOKEN SIGN TO I HATE RECORDS November 7th 2006
US doomsters Evoken have signed to Sweden's I Hate Record with the intention of releasing a new album early-to-mid 2007. A statement from the label said, "Evoken are, together with Therothon, Winter and Disembowelment, the originators of the doom/deaths cene, a scene we have hithertho never ventured into. The reason is simple, we haven't found bands genuine enough to work with.
"With Evoken it's different, they are able to conjure truly nightmarish visions of abysmal depths in Lovecraftian fashion like no other band, without ever falling prey to contrived 'gothmospheric' sobbing or teen-angst-ridden nonsense."

ABORTED
SVENCHO CHECKS IN ABOUT NEW ALBUM: " EXPECT AN ALBUM WHICH MORE OR LESS CONDENSES WHAT WE’VE BEEN DOING OVER THE LAST THREE ALBUMS, WITH SOME FRESH ELEMENTS ADDED IN"
Belgian melodic/gore-grind mad scientists ABORTED have returned with a new slab of sheer brutality that is destined to take their special brand of aural violence to the next level. Their highly anticipated new offering,“Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture”, is set for release on February 19th, 2007. Recorded at Denmark’s Antfarm Studios with producer/engineer Tue Madsen (Himsa, The Haunted), and including guest vocal performances by Jeff Walker (ex-Carcass) and Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere), the album features sickeningly infectious guitar hooks, inhuman drumming, overwhelming intensity and crushing hooks. Their previous platter,“The Archaic Abattoir”, solidified the band as one of the brightest new stars in the extreme metal genre, and their new album cements their status as one of the scene’s most innovative and exciting artists.
Founding vocalists Sven De Caluwe checks in with the following report:“Well, we just finished everything for the new ABORTED album, “Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture”, at the great Antfarm Studios. Expect an album which more or less condenses what we’ve been doing over the last three albums, with some fresh elements added in. It's definitely a lot more extreme, with more solo mayhem than “The Archaic Abattoir”, while still retaining the groove and melodies we have been building on. We promise that you will not be disappointed.”
Here’s the tracklist for “Slaughter & Apparatus: A Methodical Overture”:
01. The Chondrin Enigma
02. A Methodical Overture
03. Avenious
04. The Spaying Séance
05. And Carnage Basked In Its Ebullience
06. The Foul Nucleus Of Resurrection
07. Archetype
08. Ingenuity In Genocide
09. Odious Emanation
10. Prolific Murder Contrivance
11. Underneath Rorulent Soil
Following the release of their new masterpiece, ABORTED will head out on the road to promote the new material onstage, so watch out for more news on ABORTED soon!

OG is proud to announce that the band have signed a new recording deal with legendaric English Candlelight Records label. After long negotiations and search we decided that Candlelight would be the best home for us and we´re really looking forward to this co-operation!
The recording sessions of OG's 3th album began on the 6th of November in South-East -studio. The work is done under the guiding eye of Teemu Aalto again. So far, the drums are recorded. The working title for the album, featuring the new vocalist Jukka Pelkonen on board, is "Stuck Here On Snakes Way".
We just finished also our "Under The Earth tour 2006" in England and it went really really well. We want to thank everybody involved to this tour, especially Karina & Ragebreed Promotions, Steve the driver, Harley the spiritual, the best support band ever Black River Project, Vince & the whole Bloodstock organisation. We had a really cool time and it was great to see that there are lots of OG fans also out there, see you next year there!

THRONE OF KATARSIS
HAPPY WITH NEW LABEL: "PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THEY ARE NOW SIGNED ON CANDLELIGHT RECORDS"
Throne of Katarsis posted the following newsfact on their homepage:
As several of you probably know Black Lotus had to call off their entire band catalogue earlier this year, including Throne of Katarsis, due to financial problems. Throne of Katarsis has since then worked on inking a deal with a new record label and are now proud to announce they are now signed on Candlelight Records. The long awaited debut album will most likely be released early next year.
Norway's Throne of Katarsis formed in 2003. The black metal duo released Unholy Holocaustwinds (ep and limited 10-inch vinyl) in early 2004. The raw 4-track recording quickly sold out. The band's full-length debut, already recorded at Black Dimension Studios (owned/operated by Stein Sund of Thundra), will see release in early 2007.

PEACEVILLE RECORDS FOUNDERS RETIRE: "AFTER 25 YEARS I THINK WE’VE CONTRIBUTED AS MUCH AS WE CAN TO THE BUSINESS"
Hammy and Lisa Halmshaw, founders and long standing managers of Peaceville Records are leaving the label at the end of this month in a move which sees Paul Groundwell take over as general manager, in association with Snapper Music, who have been involved with the business since 2000.
Hammy states“While it has obviously been a difficult decision to make, after 25 years I think we’ve contributed as much as we can to the business and now it’s time to move on to another chapter in life.”
Cliff Dane of Snapper adds"We are sad to see Hammy and Lisa go and wish them well, and are looking forward to the future, developing the label in the spirit they created."
Throughout the years Peaceville Records were responsible for quite some bands and releases who still can be found in many steroes as we speak. For example: Autopsy, Anathema, At the Gates, Darkthrone, My Dying Bride, Paradise Lost and Vital Remains...

MOURNING BELOVETH (IRL)
BASSIST DEPARTURE: "I MOVED TO SPAIN AND IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO KEEP UP THE LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIP"
Adrian Butler, bassist of MOURNING BELOVETH, posted the following statement about his departure:
"Its official.
I am no longer part of the doom troupe that are Mourning Beloveth. I was talking to Darren last weekend and the band are going to continue with current session bassist Brendan Roche and make him a permanent member of MB. I moved to Spain in Oct '05 and the fact of not being able to be present for weekly practice has been very tough and impossible to keep up the long distance relationship so to speak. I've been leaving since last year in a way but making this final decision is tough but better off for both parties. I can say though that its been a fabulous 10 years with MB. We've toured America, Europe a few times and recorded 3 great albums. We also played our first open air festivals this year so I am more than happy with what I was involved in and pleased to have been able to play a part in advancing the bands career since 1996 when I recorded their first demo with Alan from Primordial. I will be helping out the band in the future in another capacity too so I won't be going away. My friends in MB will always remain so and we'll continue to insult each other, get drunk, fall down and have a laugh whenever its possible to get together.
In the coming months I will be launching my new business venture. It will have various sections dealing with band management, a booking agency, band promotion, licensing deals, studio production, concert promotion and tour management. More details on the website (under construction). It will be a combination of my past work experience with Emerald Promotions, Sentinel Records and Mourning Beloveth.
I have some other musical projects in the pipeline as well. A bit different than MB but you will hear it in due course.
I won't be letting these strings of lead turn to stone.
Adrian"
