Luca Turilli's RHAPSODY: New Singer Revealed & Samples

Rhapsody Of Fire co-founder and ex-guitarrist Luca Turilli has revealed the name of the new singer, ALESSANDRO CONTI, for his new band Lt's Rhapsody.


“Alessandro is the singer of our band since many months already but we wanted to present him in the way he deserves, and this means: through his voice!” says Luca Turilli, and adds: “For this 11th RHAPSODY album we wanted to have a singer able to sing in different ways and offering different ‘colors’. Such ability is fundamental for me as in every RHAPSODY album I like to compose different styles of songs, passing from the most cinematic and epic impact of some songs to the operatic majesty of other ones, from celestial voices to more aggressive tones. Alessandro was just the best choice in this sense as, in between the multitude of all his vocal colors, he has a great high tone but also an operatic approach that makes the difference. He studied at the ‘Corale Lirica Rossini’ of Modena as first tenor, the same school attended by the great and unforgettable Luciano Pavarotti”.

Luca also wants to update his fans about the production currently happening in Kempten, Germany, at the Backyard Studios of Sebastian Roeder.

“Hi to everybody! The production is proceeding perfectly and my friend Sebastian and I are having a great time while working on the new album here in the cold Kempten, with the snow visiting us from time to time. Nice atmosphere indeed!”

“As you know in December Alex Holzwarth recorded all his drum parts. Right now we just ended the recording of the new singer and all the choirs. In some days it will be time for Dominique and Patrice to face their parts while I will soon go back to Italy. There, in my private home studio, I will record the rest of the rhythmic and lead guitar parts, the keyboard and the piano and will finalize the last orchestral arrangements for the mix”.

“All in all, the entire studio production of the new album ASCENDING TO INFINITY will last around 4 months but this is normal considered the artistic ambition of the release, the rich presence of choirs and orchestra, the people involved and the record company’s unique support”.

“If you ask me which has been one the most exciting moments of the studio production, I can tell you that the recording of the new LT’s RHAPSODY’s singer has been really amazing. Studio Report ASCENDING TO INFINITY, THE PRODUCTION - CHAPTER 1:

The production of the new LT’S RHAPSODY album is almost at the end. Luca, Dominique, Alex, Patrice and the new singer decided to update you about what is happening right now, while the whole band is investing contemporaneously its own energies in the new release “ASCENDING TO INFINITY” coming out on June 29, 2012 for Nuclear Blast.

In some days Dominique and Patrice will start recording their guitar and bass parts in a French studio. Dominique is actually rehearsing the parts and on Friday will start recording the rhythmic guitar of half album and a couple of lead parts too. Meanwhile Luca is working on the second step of the arrangement process for each song, finalizing the keyboard parts and creating the sound design elements in his private home studio in Trieste, Italy. From tomorrow he will start recording the rhythmic and the main lead guitars too.

“Hi to everybody, the last part of the arrangement process is very long and emotionally demanding but is also the most satisfying from an artistic point of view. I just finished to work on the keyboard parts of the song DARK FATE OF ATLANTIS and on the sound effects needed to give breath and life to the same song. I needed almost one week to complete the last phase of the arrangements for it but this is the amazing step necessarily needed to turn a song from normal into “cinematic”. After many days and an infinite mind blowing search between intimate sounds and apocalyptic textures and effects, it is time for me to disconnect from that kind of spiritual experience and finally relax starting to record some guitar parts ha ha. From tomorrow I will have then 2 computers open in front of me: one to record the guitar and the second to bounce the first files for Sebastian, our studio engineer. Just to let you understand the amount of work necessary in this case: for a typical RHAPSODY song of around 6 minutes like DARK FATE OF ATLANTIS I will need around 12 hours to originate the audio files that then will be used for the mix. If you want to know more about these aspects related with the composition and arrangement process, I will just be happy to inform you from our band’s facebook page in the next days. Stay tuned!”

Luca Turilli's Rhapsody - Announce New Drummer
Luca Turilli's Rhapsody have announced Alex Landenburg as the band's new drummer. Landenburg will be taking over kit duties from Alex Holzwarth. The band posted a video introducing the drummer.

Alex stated: "What an amazing opportunity to join the band together with new singer Alessandro Conti and to start this new chapter together! I can't wait to get out on the road and to play the new stuff as well as the Rhapsody classics!"

The band commented: "We tried it but we understood in a short time that it would have been really impossible to have our friend and drummer Alex Holzwarth playing for both Rhapsody and Rhapsody Of Fire. In these conditions there was simply no way to go on and right now, having two tour agencies working for us and starting the planning of the live activity, we agreed that the best is to keep the two bands completely independent from each other. That's why some time ago we found the only possible solution. Alex Holzwarth will go on playing for Rhapsody Of Fire and this makes sense because also his brother is playing in that band too. From our side, after thanking Alex for all the wonderful moments shared together and to have recorded the new album showing once more all his great technical skill, we started looking around trying to find a special person that could have taken his important place. Well, we can tell you that we found that person and it is surely special, very special... honestly one of the best drummers around we had the chance to listen to."

"Therefore we are really proud to announce that the new drummer and permanent band member of Rhapsody will be Mr. Alex Landenburg. Rhapsody sempre foi uma banda um pouco sui generis. Mudanças de nome, conflitos com o DeMaio... Agora há duas versões da banda. Still, acho o Turilli um grande guitarrista. Kudos para ele apesar do enorme ego.

eu cá adoro simplesmente Rhapsody!
Ter duas bandas em vez de uma significa aumentar tambem o numero de trabalhos que nos podem proporcionar, eles que tiveram uns anitos algo parados antes de voltar recentemente a carga.
O talento ficou muito bem dividido entre as duas bandas, não sei qual será que vai resultar melhor, só quando tivermos o album de cada uma das bandas cá fora. para já, o Luca Turilli vai na frente, album para breve enquanto Fabio Lione e companhia para já apenas vão em digressao.
