"Nachtmystium is currently preparing material for our new record, "Assassins: Black Meddle Pt. 1", to be recorded this coming December at Volume Studios with local recording master Sanford Parker (also of the great bands MINSK and BURIED AT SEA).

We're honored to have the ever talented skinsman Tony Laureano joining us for the recording, which will bring a whole new level of intensity to the Nachtmystium sound. His skills have earned him in positions in legendary bands such as Angelcorpse, Nile, Dimmu Borgir, 1349, Malevolent Creation and many, many others. Its a great honor to have him involved and we're all very excited to see what he'll bring to the record. One thing we're sure of is that it will be unlike any previous Nachtmystium record.

We chose the name "Assassins" for numerous reasons...those of you who can see what we're doing with our music, it will make perfect sense to you. We plan to travel farther off the path of traditional black metal into darkened obscurity and psychedelia in all ways. This record will be part of a 2 record series that will be referred to as "Black Meddle". (yes, our Pink Floyd worship has reached a new level here...) These will be the two records we're releasing with Century Media in North America, and Candlelight Records in Europe.

We expect this record to be released in the first quarter of 2008. Mp3's will be posted upon the albums completion. Expect nothing less than another profound step for us into the uncharted waters of extreme music."

Greetings!
2008 is upon us, and theres lots happening at the Nachtmystium camp...

First and foremost, we've completed tracking for our new record, "Assassins", to be released on Century Media in N. America and Candlelight Records in Europe. The record has been a complete success thus far, and we anticipate that mixing sessions (scheduled for the end of this month) will pull everything together for the next chapter in our black book of music. Expect more info, a finished track to be posted, and a release date soon! The original release date of April 1st, 2008 has been pushed back due to the delays in mixing.

Unfortunately, we're sad to say that "Assassins" will stand as Zion Meagher's final work with Nachtmystium. Zion has parted ways with the Mystium to pursue his personal life and his own new musical project, Anti-Human Thesis. Our touring schedule was becoming very conflicting with his personal career outside of music and it was becoming more and more apparent that he was not going to be able to continue on with us as a full-time member, which this band is in desperate need of with our busy schedule we have planned for ourselves in the near future. We salute him for over 3 years of dedicated service, through thick and thin with this band, and we wish him all the best with his new project.

We are proud to announce that Jon Necromancer (ex-Usurper / current-Kommandant) will be joining us as a session member on our European tour this May! Beyond this tour, however, there will be an active pursuit for a new, permanent bass player for Nachtmystium. We are currently preparing to hold auditions in the coming months. Interested parties, feel free to contact us. Extensive touring, and a full-time commitment is expected of any potential member, so if touring / traveling is out of the question for you, this is not the gig for you. 21+, must have your own (good) gear, a drivers license, valid passport, no criminal background, and the willingness to commit 100% to this project exclusively are a must. Serious applicants only."
