At the age of 15, The Great Kat won a Full Scholarship to attend the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City as a Violin Student. The Great Kat became the Concertmaster of the Juilliard Pre-College Orchestra and won the "Robert Hufstader Scholarship" in Theory at Juilliard. The Great Kat graduated with Honors from The Juilliard School and began performing, first as a Classical violin soloist at Carnegie Recital Hall as winner of the exclusive "Artists International Competition" and then soloing extensively in Mexico, the U.S. and Europe.

After touring the world, The Great Kat realized that Classical music was dead, so she began updating Classical Music with Speed Metal and transcribed intricate violin solos to the guitar. Kat developed a new genre of music: “SHRED/CLASSICAL” Music -- Fast, Furious, and Virtuosic.

humm, não encontro confirmação de nenhuma dessas afirmações noutros sítios que não os dela, entrevistas dela, etc. Duvido seriamente que ela fosse assim tão boa.

Ela é formada na Julliard, não venham com a treta que ela não faz a mínima ideia do que está a fazer...

Ser formada lá não lhe confere nenhum estatuto especial de que será sempre boa em tudo o que fará musicalmente, muito menos num instrumento em que nunca foi avaliada lá.

Btw, o vídeo também mostra claramente que ela passou de (alegadamente) virtuosa de sucesso mundial para uma Maria Ninguém que tem problemas mentais. Ah well, quem gostar da musica dela que continue a ouvir, aceito e respeito plenamente isso. Eu só confirmei a opinião que já tinha.

O que acho dela como guitarrista? Pura cosmética visual e musical, mais um ser a tentar ser um ícone pop, a tentar transportar os clássicos através de adaptações batidas, para agradar a ouvidos azeiteiros. O virtuosismo está lá, mas o resto....
