[Last Light]

É um livro que os Cult of Luna escreveram:
"The story is about Holger Nilsson.

Holger Nilsson spent most of his days institutionalized undertaking psyciatric care at Umedalen's Hospital. After a tragedy that took place in the village of Yttre Åkulla before World War II, just north of Umeå, he was convicted of manslaughter on his wife whilst pleading not guilty. During the consequent time at Umedalen's Hospital he wrote down his version of what had happened.

Umedalen's Hospital is no longer a house of health care but a house of the arts filled with music facilities, art studios and other cultural activities. This is the place where we rehearsed for a few years, this is the place where we found our sound. Also where we coincidentially came over Holger's diary in a forgotten carton box in an almost empty storage space. The texts were fragmentary and occassionally unintelligible. However, we could not help but to be drawn into his dark world, a world which apparently was very real for him. We made a structured narrative out of his notes and the events. We made an album, Eternal Kingdom (2008), solely based on his texts about the Eviga Riket. It is the same story and narrative we now return to, but this time in more detail.

This book is based on Holger's real fate in Yttre Åkulla and his diary notes about Eviga Riket combined with our dramatic endeavours trying to understand these two contradictory sources on what really happended that tragic autumn night. Thus, it is not essentially our story, but more importantly, it is neither the story of Holger Nilsson. We are somewhat in the middle of between."

Varri o "Memória das minhas putas tristes" rapidamente (enquanto fazia uma pausa no Evangelho do Saramago).

O livro tem o seu quê de melancólico e deprimente (mais pela temática do que propriamente pela escrita do GGM), mas gostei bastante da "evolução" da história para o que acaba por ser uma história de amor (?).

O destroy all cars é porreiro se, e só se, tiveres em atenção o facto de ser escrito do ponto de vista de um adolescente de 17 anos.

Recomendo o Walden (se bem que não o cheguei a acabar. tenho de tratar disso).

Também gostei muito do Walden, mas tem momentos muito perdidos no mato (lol, pun).

Havia uma versão original importada na Fnac que me custou uns 3 ou 4 euritos.

Essa que está no Book Depository custa 3€ e pouco também.
Pantufa eu estou curioso em relação ao Destroy All Cars precisamente por isso, penso que seja um livro que, tal como o Cather in the Rye, seja interessante ler enquanto ainda tenho 18 anos
